Short and Medium-Chain Fatty Acids

Feedéal’s SCFA & MCFA solutions

Our Short and Medium-Chain Fatty Acids

Short-chain fatty acids are molecules with a maximum of 6 carbon atoms. Medium-chain fatty acids are dietary fats whose carbon atom chains contain approximately 8 to 12 carbon atoms. These fatty acids are highly digestible, allowing for rapid absorption of nutrients and direct use of resources as an immediate energy source. Short- and medium-chain fatty acids increase satiety and are less likely to be stored as fat. Their use in animal nutrition therefore ensures profitability and efficiency.

The products from our partner Proviron consist exclusively of monoglycerides, the only chemical form that is active against bacteria. The key advantage of monoglycerides is that they are pH-independent. There is no dissociation in the stomach, so they remain fully active throughout the entire digestive tract.

The product ML65, offered by Feedéal, contains a high level of α-monolaurin, a component that enhances digestibility—unlike poorly digestible vegetable fats such as silica-based fats. This product can be used as a low-inclusion supplement in the animal’s base feed in continuous dosing, thereby ensuring the availability of α-monolaurin in the intestine and supporting beneficial growth rates. It is also a product known for its antimicrobial effect, which boosts animal performance and reduces mortality rates.

The product Pure ML30 G provides α-monolaurin in vermicelli form, making it easy for farmers to use directly.

The product MBs consists of monobutyrin on a silica carrier.

The product TBs consists of tributyrin on a silica carrier.

The product OptiGut is a combination of α-monolaurin and monobutyrin.

The product Capripro L

The product Butipro L is liquid monobutyrin.
